  6. children were shot and stabbed to death by armed gangs. Killings
  7. in other townships near Johannesburg last week brought the
  8. week's toll in the continuing political warfare to more than 70
  9. dead. Residents blamed the killings on supporters of the Inkatha
  10. Freedom Party, main rival of the African National Congress.
